Ingredients:
1 cup cooked rice
1 cup idli rava
1/2 cup urad dal
8-10 tablespoon strained urad dal water for grinding
Rock salt as required
Oil for greasing the idli molds

Making of Idli from cooked rice:
In a bowl add urad dal and wash it a couple of times with water. Drain all the water and add fresh water to it. Soak urad dal for about 3-4 hours. In another bowl, add idli rava and soak for about 2 hours.
Now, drain all the water from urad dal and reserve it in a bowl. Drain all the water from Idli Rava and keep it aside. In a grinder, add soaked urad dal, idli rava, cooked rice along with some strained water and grind into a smooth paste. Make sure that you add water in intervals.
The batter should be smooth and fluffy. Transfer the batter into a bowl and add some salt to it. Cover the bowl with a lid and allow the batter to ferment overnight for 8-9 hours.
Now, the next day takes an idli steamer and add 2-3 cups water in it. Heat the water and let the water bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, take the idli molds and grease it with oil. Pour the batter in the molds and place the molds in the idli stand and then place it in the idli steamer. Cover the steamer with the lid and steam the idlis for about 10-12 minutes.
To check whether the idlis are cooked or not, insert a toothpick or knife in the middle of the idli, and if the idli comes out clean, then the idlis are cooked.
With the help of a butter knife, remove the idlis and transfer on the plate. Yummy Idlis are ready to relish along with coconut chutney or sambar.
